
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez, September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]) is an American and Mexican actress. Her career began in Mexico in the telenovela Teresa, where she was a lead in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which brought her an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also co-produced, made her the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. The following years, Hayek focused more on producing , and was also in the action-centered pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico
