Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actress, playback singer and a musician who works predominantly in Tamil and Malayalam movies that are based on the Tamil language. She made her acting debut with the Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam and Malayalam debut with Annayum raolum. Andrea Jeremiah has an Anglo-Indian family background. She was the daughter of an Madras High Court attorney. She has a younger sister who is a resident of Leuven Belgium in the role of Research assistant. Jeremiah lived close to Chennai and went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. She has said that she was a fan of science and wanted to become psychiatrist when she passed the 12th grade of her board exams.Andrea was a classical pianist when she was just eight. At age 10 she was an active member of the group called the Jackson Five Young Stars which formed the base of her early singing and music composing career. She worked as an actor at her university and participated in several plays produced through The Madras Players, EVAM and various theatre organizations. She served as President of the The Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea's career started with Girishkarnad Nagamandala. Andrea was in a new Leo coffee commercial together with actor Shiva in 2006. She was also on Podhigai Channel on a TV series. She has performed all over India. She was a part of a short role in Kanda Mudhal, the 2005 climax. Gautham Menon asked Andrea to play the lead role after she sang in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Andrea was Kalyani the homemaker who's husband is involved in an extramarital affair. Andrea got the part of Kalyani when Simran Shobana Tabu and other actresses were approached.
